RAOF – Redbox Popcorn

March 11, 2014

Chad has been gone a couple of weeks now and they haven’t been fun. I’ve been stressed, the kids have been a little on edge, especially Leia. I was not loving life. Sure I would have moments of fun, running with Jayne, the Olympics, Thor coming out on DVD, but generally I was not happy. Then last Saturday I had the opportunity to serve the needy a free lunch at a local church.

Yeah, one stops whining when one sees people who NEED a free meal.

After being put into my place, I decided that the girls and I needed to do Random Acts Of Kindness once a week to reminder ourselves that the world is bigger than just us and our problems. Since RAOK isn’t as fun to say as RAOF, Random Acts Of Friendship, I changed it. Here is this week’s RAOF.

Nice Satan eyes Lizzy.

Nice Satan eyes Lizzy.

We taped popcorn onto Reboxes here in town. The girls loved the idea but Leia was a little worried it was against the law. We first hit up the gas station closes to our house.

“Mom, what is this movie and why is she on fire? Can we watch it?” No.

We had glue onto the popcorns a little saying that said, “Enjoy some popcorn with your movie!” Then the girls cut them out using my fancy cutting scissors from scrapbooking. Elizabeth especially loved the cutting part.

“I will posses you…”

Next we hit up Walmart.

"Let me do it!"

“Let me do it!”

Leia was really nervous about putting these up at Walmart. I think if a
manager had walked by, she would have fled the scene of the crime.

Sadly we didn’t get to do anymore as work called and I had to go back and close up the club house. Normally I close the club house on Monday nights but a group was having a meeting and they needed me to lock up later.

We had a great time doing this and I have a few more ideas. However since I want to keep this up till Chad gets back, I would love some suggestions for RAOF. Leave any ideas you have in the comments or on Facebook. Thanks so much and keep passing it along!
